My Mother has a strange body odor and she bathes regularly. Advice?

The odor just started today. She is diabetic. And she is not incontinent.

I am going to assume that since she is a diabetic that you have access to a glucometer to check her BS,also do you have the dip sticks for the urine? Has she changed mentally? Also have you check her for a vaginal yeast infection? Is there any kind of vaginal discharge? Of course if she is having any kind of mental changes she needs to have medical care NOW.

It is the weekend, go to the emergency room. Ketoacidosis can be a life-threatening emergency in a diabetic.
Is her breath fruity? Nausea, vomiting?
She may be dehydrated, maybe has lost electrolytes, confusion.
If you are not familiar with diabetes, take her right away.
Please check back, how did it go?

Lauri, in a diabetic that odor is a negative sign. It could indicate ketoacidosis.
It could indicate the prodromal symptoms of a diabetic coma.
However, that is just from what I remember, from the top of my head. We need real professional advice here, from a doctor or nurse. I will go look it up, but you should take action or watch her carefully. What do you know about diabetes?
You can look up KETOACIDOSIS.
What is the odor like? Sometimes, they're urine can smell sweet.
A somewhat sweet odor can also indicate a yeast infection.
Can you call her doctor?

If you can describe the odor and where it's strongest that would be helpful.

Lauri, did any of your Mom's medicines have changed recently? Example, I was told that if one takes vitamin B Complex that it can present a heavy odor in the urine.

Can you describe the odor? Where does it come from on her body? When did it start?
