I can only imagine caring and medical expenses for a quad would be very high. You are not spring chicken to provide this your self. You must have an estate, or assets of some kind, if you have had care for 15 years. Please see an elder attorney to plan. Staying at home may be difficult, but I do hope you can stay together. Also, have you asked the adult children, if they can help? Maybe, they can consider a little belt tightening and each help out a bit at least.

If you do not qualify for Medi-Cal, does that mean you have income or assets above the limits? Can you spend that for additional care, and when you run out you will be eligible for Medi-Cal?

My heart aches for your situation.
