I have MS and am in the middle of a divorce. My doctors say I cannot work anymore. Would I qualify for Medicaid and how?

I have been trying to get SSI but got denied so I appealed but I was told it wouldn't be till at least December for me to get a court date. Do I already need SSI before applying for medicaide?
I live with my parents and disabled son who just got approved for medicaide but i own a car. Would it help my case if i sold it or transfered the title to my parents?

If you live in a state where they expanded Medicaid under obamacare then you can keep car and any assets because it goes on current income. What state do you live in ?

You need to sign up for Medicare diability. You will need all ur doctors findings. You apply at ur local SS office. You may get turned down the first time. You can get a lawyer before or after ur first application. A lawyer cannot charge. It could take 2yrs to get SSD. If u win, you get paid retro to the first time u applied. A lawyer is allowed a percentage of this but not more than $6000, I think it was. If u win u will get Medicare. You will be given a choice of hospitalizations and prescription plans. Since my nephew gets special help he pays no premiums. Medicaid i his econdary.

It all depends on the rules and regulations for your State... note each State is different and there are constant changes.
