How is the money from the sale of a car treated during the Medicaid look back period?
My mother is selling her car when she moves into an Assisted Living facility. Can that money be put aside for her incidental expenses or must it be declared as an asset?
Is it an asset? Then it's treated as all the others. Really, though, you shouldn't take advice on such important questions from well-meaning posters like me. Ask Medicaid. That's the only one to believe.
