Is there any compensation available to full time home caregivers?

My 79 year old mother has severe COPD and has to have help in her daily activities. I have had to quit my job of 20 years to stay at home and help her. I know in the past there was a program that paid caregivers. My mother came to live with me after my father passed away.

In the US, she would have to be on Medicaid, and you work it out with her caseworker IF your state has a Medicaid Waiver or similar program in place. Don't count on full-time pay. Try nrcpds.bc.edu/ and click on TOOLS and MAP and then click on your state.
