Perineal care - wounds from sitting in diaper. What else can I do?

My aunt asked me to bring her peri pads the next time I visit her. I researching them, I see they are for wound care such as after having a baby or having blisters down there due to sitting for long periods in waste. I am very upset for her. What else can I do? I will bring the pads. Would vaseline help? Special wipes? Speaking with nursing supervisor? any help is appreciated.
