My Mom became dyslexic after a cerebrovascular accident. Is this kind of dyslexia a sign for dementia?

No. Dyslexia means difficulty reading, and it is a specific deficit due to a single stroke. Dementia is more global. Hopefully they are taking steps to prevent additional strokes though!

yes a stroke. she can't read. she says that the letters are flying. the doctors told us that she may read after a while, but I don't believe it.
