How do we tell my mother-in-law that we are filing for conservatorship?

She has serious paranoia and always accuses us of stealing from her. But she lives alone and it is really not safe but we can't do anything for her unless we have conservatorship. Any talking point is appreciated.

Don't tell her anything, she won't be able to reason with it. Get the procedure arranged. You may have to get her examined by docs and take her to a hearing. But if her dementia is bad, you have to use some trickery. Don't feel bad about it. Just remember you are doing all this for her welfare.

Oh and by the way she refused to believe that she has dementia and insists that it is our scheme to get her money. She doesn't think there is anything wrong with her. Given her mental state, how do we tell her the news without her getting a heart attack?
