How do I become a legal caregiver for my disabled Mom (75)?

My Mother and I live together and I am already her caregiver, but not legally. I do all of the cooking, cleaning, bathing, medicine dispensing, shopping, driving, etc...

PASCO Personal Assistance Services of Colorado.

Robin, in Colorado you may find information from an organization called PASCO. There are guidlines for qualifying, but someone I know is being paid to caregive through them. I am not sure at all how it works.

Do you mean that you want some authority to make decisions? Has she filled out a Power of Attorney document? A health care advance directive?

If you mean you want her to pay you, then you write out an agreement with a Lawyer to help you.

Legal caregiver? There is no law saying whom can or cannot be a Caregiver. Curious why you think you need to be *legal*?
