My sister (83) is in assisted living. She will not eat very often and will do no exercise. Any advice?

She's been seeing and counting cards for years. Her memory is perfect. Takes many meds. That's pretty much it. She drinks juice but only takes water with her medication. She does not go to the bathroom regularly as she can not stand by herself without her walker. Very weak yet very stubborn. Help, please

Any way to cut back on some of the meds? Sounds like over-medication.

One has to get your sister up and around, if physically possible... by just even walking she will gain an appetite... and maybe help with her balance so she doesn't feel like she will fall, thus in her mind she is thinking less liquid and less food means less trips to the bathroom.

Also, when was the last time your sister saw a dentist... sometimes a hurtful tooth will slow down someone from eating.
