What do you tell your loved one with Alzheimer's when they say "I want to go home"?

I see that you are taking care of your grandmother in your home. Where are her adult children in all of this situation? How old is she? How old are you?

Well, I often told my mother that her doctor said that she could no longer live by herself at home. Sometimes, I wondered which home she was speaking of? Did she mean her most recent home or her childhood home.

What stage does her doctor say her Alzheimer's is currently? Is she on any meds? Does she take them?

What plan do you have for when she reaches the stage where one person will not be able to care for her 24/7?

How are you supporting yourself and taking care of yourself while taking care of your grandmother?

Usually if someone who has serious memory issues say that they want to go home they could mean two different things..... one is they want to go back to live in their childhood home back when they were happy and healthy.... second is wanting to pass on to the next life as they are not happy where their mind is today.
