Can my Dad sue me for his "freedom?"

My father can't walk without a gate belt. He doesn't remember to take his meds. He doesn't clean or cook for himself. He MOST CERTAINLY doesn't drive. I am his only 24/7 caregiver. YET, he is still convinced that he is ready to live on his own and threatens to take me to court! Will any judge (in their right mind) allow him this?

Are you his Guardian? If you are not, there is nothing to sue for. If you are a court appointed Guardian, I supposed he could petition for independence, but no Judge in his right mind would grant that. I would say "Tell it to the Judge".
When my MIL insisted she was going back to her house, I encouraged her to tell the court evaluator that. I think she did. It only took one hearing for the Judge to grant full Guardianship to her son.
