Are residents in Assisted Living required to have annual physical examinations?

My father is moving to into assisted living in March. He has seizures (controlled ) we were told he was going to have to have a neurologist (quite obviously) which he does. Does assisted living require physical examinations. We were told eventually Medicaid (he will be a private pay until his savings are at the level required by Medicaid ) requires them. Or does each stare have their own requirements?

Here in NY mom had to be certified free of any communicable diseases, in writing from her MD. Annual inspection by obgyn reqiured too.

You will need to ask the assisted living management if they require a physical. The one where my MIL is does not require an annual physical. An assisted living does expect a certain level of functioning both physically and mentally which if he falls beneath, he will not be able to stay.

Each state manages medicaid slightly differently. I would look up the medicaid in your state and see what it says online.
