Does any one know what caregivers are allowed and not allowed to do concerning personal care (compression hose)?

In Arkansas?
The home caregivers are telling us starting the new year, they are not allowed to put on compression hose. Saying that putting them on wrong could cause blood clot. I was wondering if anyone knows if this is a new regulation in Arkansas. Or how could I find out?

We have a Rx for her stockings, they have been putting them on for three years! I did see the new training requirements, which is good. Thank you for answer! Being a home caregiver is extremely hard!

This sounds more like a policy decision on the part of the agency. Arkansas laws were updated 1/1/14 for training requirements.
It also depends on whether the person is a CNA (certified), a PCA (some training) or an HHA (no training).
Most importantly, there must be an active Rx order from an MD . Too many patients just go out and buy stockings without a professional fitting and buy the wrong level of compression.
