How do I get paid since I can't work and my stepfather is unable to be by himself?

I think it might help to know how old your step-father is and your age also. You might be in a situation where if his financial situation is poor that you might have to help him get medicaid. Are you his durable and medical POA?

Can you tell us a little more about the situation? Are you living in his house, or is he living in yours? I take it your mother is not in the picture? What are SF's infirmities? What is his financial situation? Does he get SS, a pension, any other income? Does he own property, stocks and bonds, other assets?
