Where to donate equipment and supplies?

I have quite a bit of medical equipment, supplies and incontinence supplies to donate in the Las Vegas NV area. I have contacted several medial supply houses without luck. Do anyone here have any suggestions. I would like to avoid Craigslist if possible.

Thanks,
Annette

I need this! I can arrange for pickup and storage till I have a chance to come and get it back to KY. I had a recent post on this site about looking for a wheelchair, was hoping someone like you would answer - but no one did.

Seriously, this website could use a page that cross-references notices from people who NEED THINGS and those who HAVE THINGS can link up. I'd be happy to coordinate this effort.

Oley foundation donates to families that can t afford supplies. They donate by listing your supplies on a database. Call them or email them ..

Hope that helps

I would try local senior centers, Councils On Aging, and community based Elder Service Area Agencies. I'm sure there are many seniors living on limited incomes, but inelegible for Medicaid, who would be grateful to have these things.

In my area we have a homeless mission that has an infirmary. They would love items like that. Maybe you could check some local homeless missions for what thier needs are.

The salvation Army will take things like that and re sell in their thrift stores. one of our local thrift stores also sells these things. If you have Freecycle in your area they will soon be picked up. if you are concerned about safety arrange to meet in a neutral busy place in daylight like a store parking lot. Do the same with Craigslist and you will have no trouble. People having hip replacements always need these things but only for a short time so are glad to get them free. personally I just kept all mine as I had room in the basement in case they are needed again. you can also sell them in a garge sale or just put them on the street outside your house with a free sign on them and they will soon be gone

I contacted Medical Missions International, an awesome organization that takes all the items overseas to hospitals that don't even have any of what we take for granted. The local doctors in one location have to wash their gloves before reusing them because their supplies are extremely limited. America has so many benefits with products available OTC, while other countries have next to nothing. I don't know where you are located but the main offices are as follows below. I live in California and contacted a local office who came and picked everything up for me.

Please call your local Area Agency on Aging. I work at my local "AAA" and I am always looking for adult diapers and chux for my clients. Our focus is on people who do not qualify for Medicaid and most of our clients still make so little these supplies are very much appreciated.

What about your local Visiting Nurse ? They know of homecare clients who are in need of supplies.

Your local VFW or American Legion may be interested in having those things that they can provide to veterans in need.

Your local ambulance corp might take wheelchair and walker. They then loan them out to those who need it. I ended up giving the bed pads to someone with a toddler- worked great for night time accidents. I had to throw out dad's pull up diapers- no one would take them.

If there is an organization like Winds of Agape (Syracuse NY area), they are likely to take equipment. I donated a hospital bed that I was unsuccessful selling on craigslist. They have a warehouse to hold household items, etc, for those in need.

Many churches have health miniseries and would be grateful to receive what you have. Thank you for thinking about donating and not just throwing out,

I find local senior centers a great source of donated (i.e. Free) medical supplies. So call your local center or agency for aging and donate

You might contact an in h home care provider. The one we used was thrilled to accept what we wanted to give. Many people can't afford diapers and supplies.
