My brother (54) is disabled and has shown that he cannot manage his own money. Is there a program that can do that for him?

He gets paid by SSI and he gets a small pension check from Chevron. He has not managed to pay his own utility bills since April. Others have tried to step in and help him financially, but everyone is done with helping him.

tinacashsister, I assume your brother's SSI and pension are deposited automatically into your brother's checking account or savings account. Have his utilities be on automatic payment from his checking/saving account.

Is he mentally competent? If so, he can do what he wants. Keep the number for Social Services handy. I don't know any utility company that would leave the lights on after six months of non-payment. Encourage him to apply for HEAP.
