I have not had running water for one year and I live in Shelby, Al. Any help?
The Columbiana Water board wants $650 just to turn the water on. My Mother died in February of this year and she had a water bill of $400, the $150.00 would be a deposit. I can't find a plummer until the water is on
Are you the heir of the house? You are not responsible for your parents' debts. It seems to me that you could close their account and open your own with the utility company. Is there a reason that they are not allowing that. Their debt should have been handled through her estate during the probate period. Has the house gone through probate?
That is quite an issue. If you cannot pay the water bill for the house, nor the deposit, you wouldn't be able to pay for a plumber. Time to let go of the house, and find affordable housing.
