Is your mother eligible for Medicaid? That can provide financial aid for in-home services and well as for care centers. They often pay for adult day health centers, and may offer nurse visits, home health aides, and pay for supplies and equipment. They do not generally offer 24-hour in-home care, because at that point a care center is more economical, but they do try to keep seniors in their own homes if that is feasible. This is a federal program administered by the state. I'd start by looking into that for mother.

You keep right on working, because someday you will need a pension. Talk to her MD about whether she is appropriate for adult daycare. If she is contact your county office of the aging for available programs.
