Does Medicare or wellcare pay for a sitter?

Eyerishlass Mar 2014
If a home healthcare agency accepts Medicare they will usually allow a caregiver but only for so many hours a day.

If you're asking whether Medicare would pay for home-health care ("a sitter") the answer is yes. The care must be provided by a person or agency that is accredited and contracted to receive Medicare payments.

A sitter, no, but her doctor would order in home care if she needs it.

I don't believe that Medicare does. Is your mother on Wellcare? They administer Medicaid in GA, and if your mother is eligible for in-home help such as a companion, a health aide, a personal care attendant, etc. they will see that the correct agency is billed.

If Mom is on Medicaid/Wellcare, talk to her case worker.

If she is not yet receiving Wellcare benefits, applying for that is probably the best place to start.
