89yr mom living with me. She has dementia and I need to hire overnight care. What options do I have to pay for it?

I have POA healthcare. She owns her home, is on Medicare/Medicaid but is no longer able to live alone. Needs 24 hr care. I can take care of most of it but just need overnight care, in my home while I work. Do I have to pay out of pocket? And if so, can I be compensated for that expense?

Linderella I feel for you, it's a tough job caring for a loved one.. Please don't let it rule your life.. Take time for yourself! And that doesn't mean when your at work...Don't be afraid to start looking into NH's. You come first!

There are caregivers in many communities who could take this over.

Take care xx

Thank you. She recently was in hospital and they released her into my care. I am currently using up sic time from work and waiting for FMLA paperwork to clear, as well as having home healthcare company come up with options.
Everything is happening at once, however I am stuck at home since she can't be left alone.

Talk to her MD, because visiting nurses and aides are covered when ordered by the MD.
