Do male patients respond to caregivers handling/cleaning with arousal, erections?

MishkaM Apr 2013
Actually, susan26, that is nice to know as I am sure some men would be grateful to know that it is a normal reaction to stimuli from a man or a woman. Kind of a "phew" moment.

not true. men get erections even when they are having an examination by a male nurse..... its the tactile stimulation that causes the erection, not the arousal in this instance. :-)

it totally depends on how attractive the female personal assistant is..

When I was nursing (a LONG TIME ago now), it was common for a man who was being bed bathed, shaved, or having a condom catheter put on to have an erection. One man even ejaculated while he was being shaved and prepped for surgery, to his immense embarressment.

It is part of their physiology, Just ignore it as part of the job, and make no comment to it. I used to put a towel over his private parts and if he got an erection just wash matter of factly and then finish. Be clinical and professional, it is probably even more embarressing for him than it is for you.

Sorry, yes, all part of the process.
