What are requirements/training of geriatric case manager?

Several are also RN's. They must have at least one degree held in a field related to care management, i.e. counseling, nursing, mental health, social work, psychology or gerontology; have certifications in Care Management (CCM, CMC) and be primarily working with seniors for at least 2 yrs. I work with PGCM's and I can honestly say they are a wonderful resource for families - I could go on and on about the difference they can make in a family's life. You can find one in your area by going to caremanager.org - Find a Care Manager.

Most are social workers. Check with your local Department of Human Services to find out educational and training requirements.
