Hospice care is something that is covered by pricate insurance and Medicare. Medicare pays for the care, provided the person is Medicare eligible, but not the accommodation. Hospice care can be delivered in the home and includes medication and durable medical equipment deemed appropriate for the comfort of the person. It involves visits by nurses, aides, chaplains and social workers and embraces the family not just the patient.
