Should I go along with my mom's delusions?

We think my mom is showings signs of dementia. She's constantly bringing up friends from 20 yrs ago which I have just let her talk but recently it's been more manic. This is a problem cause she is a Dialysis patient & is trying to "find her friend before she leaves her baby outside". I explain that her friend moved across the country 20 yrs ago & she is too old to have a baby. She'll act like she understands & 5 minutes later, is panicking to find her. Should I just tell her I found them & put them on a plane to go home??

Yes. You found them and put them on a plane to go home, and her friend sends her love.

I hope you are discussing these behavioral changes with her doctors. If it is dementia, there may be some treatments that can help in the early stages -- no cure, unfortunately -- but at least some relief of symptoms. And if this behavior has other causes, that should be looked into, too.

Best of luck to you and your mother.
