Is HUD transferable when you move from one state to another?

I live alone w/my cat who will be traveling w/me. I live in a 1 bedroom duplex totally independent of any in home care. Is this facility apartments &/or what? I am 58 years old. This move will be my returning home to MN.

As far as I know, this will depend on the state. Like Medicaid, HUD is a federal program but each state also has input and different rules. There is often a waiting list for subsidized housing, so you should decide which city you want to move to and contact the social services people in that county. Ask about getting into subsidized housing, and give them your information in WA.
Good luck with your move. It's bound to have bumps, as rarely is it easy to transfer programs from state to state, but things generally work out.
Take care,
Carol

HI I am totally deaf single with 2 animals as one cat and one service dog. The reason why is... I live in HUD for 10 years. I am still on HUD. I don't know if I can move to Sacramento California from San Antiono, Tx. My oldest daughter will be having a baby in Feb 2018. and plus my second daughter is pregnant again. They would love to have me to move back to California asap. I am ready to go. They needs me so bad. I will be very happy to live close to them. I am excited to having more grandkids. Hope you can help out with my cases. Thank you.

No HUD housing will not transfer from TX to CA. The program runs independent in each state. You will have to apply in California and the lists are long.

HUD where I live seems to be a county thing. Right now with government cuts, HUD has no money. And when they do, their is a limit. Your question should be asked to your local HUD department but I would say no.
