What is respite care?

EXPERT Carol Bradley Bursack, CDSGF Jun 2011
Respite care is when someone comes in to take care of your husband to give you a break. You can hire in-home care agencies to do this, or your community may have Senior Companions through RSVP - this would be free. You can also call your local non-profit social services. Some of them have federal money for some respite care providers. You can call the Alzheimer's Association in your community. They may be able to help. Good luck. You need to take breaks.
