Ever since I lost my grandparents to I want to give company to other patients. Where can I volunteer for the elderly?

I would like to help seniors with no local family. I lost my Grantparents that were soooooo dear to me, I want to give company to patients. I am a full time Veterinarian Manager, so nights and weekends would be my availibility. I have a BS in Business from UVM and have had 3 jobs where I managed multiple people. I am 36 years old and married. Please let me know if I can help.

Most any local nursing home would love to have your help. They need people to visit folks who have no family and to help accompany people to medical appointments. They need help pushing people in their wheelchairs to meals. They need help with entertainment.
You could also call one of your local non-profit social service organizations and see if they have a way you can unofficially adopt a grandparent or something. The world needs more people like you. Please carry forward and thank you for caring so much!

I agree, a nursing home was the first place that popped into my mind. When my grandma was dying and in a nursing home, she shared a room with an old lady that never had any visitors. The only thing wrong with her that we could see, was that she was blind. We always tried to visit with her too when we came. And we all agreed that if she had been our grandma, she would've been living at home still. Sad.
