How does one become a caregiver for a family member?

I live in the State of Arizona, I want to bring my mom from California. Any suggestions?

I HAVE WRKED IN THE MEDICAL PROFESSION FOR THIRY YEARS MY HUSBAND GOT THE WEST NILE AND BECAME PARALIZED 7 YEARS AGO I HAVE BEEN TAKING CARE OF HIM ANF WORKING BUT HE;S GETTING WORSE AND ITS HARD FOR ME TO WORK I WOULD LIKE TO BECOME HIS CAREGIVERS AND GET PAID . SO I CAN STAY HOME WITH HIM PLEASE TELL ME HOW I CAN BECOME HIS VAREGIVER.THANK YOU ELIZABETH LAVIER

Have you read the thread about bringing your parent to live in your house?

What are you mother's health issues and what level of care does she need?

If you are married and have other family members living at home, how do they feel about the whole thing?

Try to look at this from as many angles as possible so that what you choose is the best for everyone so that no one, including yourself, or something else important does not get thrown under the bus.

Are you asking about practical issues, such as making your home safe, etc.?
Or, are you asking about being a paid caregiver?
If it is the former, what do you need to know?
If it is the latter, there isn't much in the way of gov. compensation.
