My husband has MSA and cannot swallow. His brain functions fully. Can he enroll in hospice and still have his feeding tube covered by ins?

EXPERT Carol Bradley Bursack, CDSGF Dec 2010
Hospice if for people who are terminal - generally with six months of less to live. However, you should check with your local hospice about their qualifications. Hospice aims to provide the best quality of life for the person who is dying, so you can certainly talk this over with these professionals. If it's in your husband's best interest to use tube feeding, likely that can be done. Please do call them and discuss this.
