How do I get help with taking care of parents financial affairs?

First, have you had the discussion with them concerning their wishes? Do you have their permission to begin the process?
You will need to obtain their Power of Attorney - financial and/or medical. You can do this by contacting an attorney who specializes in elder care or probate. Or you can do it online - I used "Legacy Writers" and found it very easy to do. If you are not detail oriented, or do not like "legaleze" I would go with the attorney. Your state regulations will dictate whether you need to notarize or have witnesses for any documents. I had everything signed and notarized at my bank.
I would also gather any legal documentation you may need: deeds to property, wills, end of life directives, medical info., (including Rxs) etc.
I also set up an online banking account for Mom. Then I can monitor her bills etc. Makes it so much easier!
Good Luck.
