Mom had stroke, not sure what to do. Does AARP pay medical bills?
My mom had a stroke this past weekend and is unable to communicate verbally at this time due to being intubated. She had an AARP card that expired, is there anything I can do without being POA. Does AARP pay medical bills?
Contact the hospital social worker and ask for direction. I would also contact your local Area on Aging to start looking for resources you may need to maintain care. Does she have Medicare or Medicaid? The hospital social worker will be able to give you information you need to manage her care for now, the area on aging will be able to help with future resources.
