Do you have to have legal papers to be a caregiver?

EXPERT Carol Bradley Bursack, CDSGF Oct 2010
If you want to be paid caregiver for people other than your family, you should check your state employment laws. Having Certified Nursing Assistant credentials is a huge plus, but as long as the people you work for know that you don't have this, then, if it's okay with your state, that may be fine. Please do check to make sure what you want to do is legal
Good luck,
Carol
