What are our other options if we need a weekend away, but my mom refuses to stay at a senior living facility while we are gone?

That is a tough one. Tell her in no uncertain terms that you (and your spouse, I am guessing) need a break. It is just a weekend where you would really like a whole week. Ask her to not be so selfish (yes use that word) and like the others suggested, see if someone can come into your home instead.

INSANE:

Whether she likes it or not, you MUST go away for the weekend! It'll help you reconnect with yourself again, and muster the energy needed to do battle when you come back.

As Hardebeck suggested, hire a nanny for the weekend. ... And make sure she/he is well paid.

Don't take your cellphone with you if you can help it.

Have fun. I'm sure Mom will manage quite well.

sometimes its not good to send them to respite place , throws them off , confusing , plus it scares them too . i know it scares me ! i wouldnt want to go there for the weekend .
wish u the best luck , i got away for the weekend and thanks to my daughter , she took care of my dad all weekend .
