My grandmother is starting to eat less. What can I do to get her to eat more?

I've heard it said that when a person is winding down in their life, they do start to eat less. So this may be a normal happening. But I would find the things that she likes the best and give her those things. And the things that she DOES eat, make sure they're loaded with calories/protein and get the most 'bang for your buck' so to speak. But really, when a person no longer wants to eat, how do you make them? I don't know. My father-in-law was on his death bed and still eating, so everyone is different I guess.
