Is there financial assistance available that will allow us to remodel our home to accomodate my elderly mother who lives with us?

There for awhile we were entertaining the idea of adding onto our house for my mother-in-law. We even had a guy come out and make drawings, estimate costs and give us a bid. But we were going to have to sell her house and use some of that money for the addition. Since she has more money than all the rest of us, she always insists she pay her way. Turned out, we went the asst. living route though.
