How can I find someone to take care of my mother while I am at work?

Can anyone please give me some direction or suggestions as to how to get some help with my Mom? She is 63 and in terrible health. her liver is failing and she now requires 24/7 care. My husband and I work and we have 5 children. My delimma is I have no one to care for her when I'm at work.

I would try your local office on aging in your city or state. Some are more helpful than others.

Most hospitals have social workers who can offer you guidance. The SW at our hospital gave me a great recommendation of a local agency.

Your mother is only 63 - is she on disability? Is she or are you financially able to hire agency caregivers? Does she need medical caregiving as well?

Please let us know.
