Is there any other option besides surgery to correct a sagging eyelid that causes the eyelashes to stick into the eye?

my mom is 87 yrs old she recently had a eye problem and i took her to the eye dr. he said her skin was sagging under her eye and the bottom eye lashes were sticking in her eye and suggested surgery.
has anyone had a problem with that? is there something we can do beside surgery. they want to pull the skin and tighten it up.
please help

This is a new one for me. It does seem that if the doctor suggested this surgery, and if it can be done without general anesthetic, it's an option. Most insurance covers this type of operation if it's not for cosmetic reasons, which this certainly isn't. You may want to get a second medical opinion, however, in case there is an alternative.

Good luck,
Carol
