How can I get financial assistance that would help pay for transportation to get my mother to her appointments?

Mother is 81 years old, and can no longer drive. She needs help getting to her cardiac rehab class and appointments.

Please check your state's Web site and look for "aging services" or something similar. They can help direct you to agencies in your area that may be able to help you.

Good luck. It takes digging and time, but can be worth it.

In our city we have a regular taxi service that provides rides to seniors for 75 cents. The only problem for my Mother is that she is unable to get from her apt. to the door of the bus or taxi. They won't provide door to door service...renders it useless for her. But if your Mom is more mobile, I would look into it.
