It just hit me. Whilst we were all playing and being merry. There was one important person not sitting next to my Dad in all the festivities of our family New Years gathering.
Mom wasn't there.

Its been 2 months since her passing.
I didn't realize that the sadness would feel so fresh on New Years.

Cherish your parents whilst you still have them

My sibblings and I just...keep rallying around Dad. We try to make time to spend with Dad as often as possible.

After loss, every holiday and occasion has felt similar for me. Grief is definitely a journey, not a one step process, but it does get better. Wishing you peace
