How are you handling Mothers Day?

My mother is in a NH, parkinsons, many strokes and advanced dementia. I visited two days ago and she didn't even realize it was my birthday, but I didn't expect her to and said nothing about it.

She won't even know it's mothers day but she loves animals more than anything and I plan on taking Lucy, my youngest cat who loves people and is afraid of nothing, to visit.

Hi Lynne - you are doing well by your mother - bless you.

I sent orchids - mothers fave flower, and a card. I will travel down when I am up to it and see if we can take her to lunch somewhere. Her birthday is 10 days after M's day. I don't think I will call as it will just turn into a b*tch fest about the facility and she probably won't remember being wished a happy day.

Taking her out now requires some coordination, wheel chair, appropriate vehicle and so on. I will rely on sig other G to help - can't manage all of that on my own. Not easy is it.

Belated Happy Birthday to you! (((((hugs))))
