Just a reminder to keep those car keys with you or locked up.

An elderly woman near me took the car, just before Thanksgiving. She was found dead, today. Searchers had found her car a day or two ago and her body was near by.

News reports say that she hadn't driven for 10 years.

We have another local case, a man, who drove to the VA and hasn't returned. He also had dementia.

It is like having a teenager. You just never know.

I agree wholeheartedly. We quietly removed the car when mom was in the hospital and never brought it back. At first we told her "not now, you're not ready yet." When the neurologist said "sell the car" we did. So if they are in the hospital, remove the car, you may not have a chance to later.
