When you hire an in-home care person do any of them have insurance and bonded?

My home owners will only provide $10 K., max and not an option to purchase an additional amount. I've also checked to see if I could purchase a separate policy from several insurance companies and no luck.

You need to have liabilty on your homeowners to cover an employee if private pay.

I seriously doubt agencies bond and insure their caregivers, but make sure to ask that question when you call.

If you hire through an agency I'd expect all of that, but if you hire privately you're probably going to find people who have either.
