I have medical power of attorney over my son who is incapacitated. Can I see his doctor with his insurance paying for the visit?

Medicare will not cover something like this. I wanted to do this for my Mom, but was told I would have to pay for the visit. I would call his insurance Company since they are the ones paying.

If the visit is to discuss your brother's affairs, say his medical condition and treatment, it should in most cases be covered; but brother should be there as well.

I'm assuming your PoA is currently active (ie you have read it and complied with whatever criteria is required to activate the authority, most likely a written medical diagnosis stating incapacity and need for a legal advocate). You will need to submit the MPoA paperwork at every clinic where your son receives care. You should also submit your FPoA documents to his health insurance company. As to whether or not his health insurance company will cover it, you must call them to find out and this is why they will need to give them your PoA paperwork.

Mom's doctor did remote (on line) appointments when she was incapacitated.

I think you should contact the insurance company for the answer.

If you need to talk to the doctor about your son you can call or communicate via their portal.
