How can I receive assistance with my IHSS application and how can I put my name on a waiting list for affordable housing?

I need help with trash, walking down the sloped steps that The Irvine Company installed (and I've fallen on). How do I get my name on a garden level affordable housing unit?

You need to go to your County Social Services Dept. They can help you apply for housing but it may be a wait. They can get you food stamps and maybe other resourses. If your having problems with your IHSS form, they can walk you thru it. If you can't get there, call and see if a caseworker can come to your home. Office of Aging may be able to help, too, but start with Social Services.

I would call your local council on aging to ask for some assistance that might be available in your area.
As you might guess, and from what we hear here, the waiting lists for affordable housing units is very long. You may be better off seeking ALF care or Nursing Home care if you cannot afford to hire in some help.

I sure wish you good luck. I hope you have supportive family or friends to help you find some answers for the area in which you live.
