I need help to pay for someone to take care of me after surgery that is not with an agency.

My first thought is to talk to the hospital social worker while you are hospitalized. They are usually very helpful and will do all they can to help find care before you are released to return home.

Does your doctor know you need help? Perhaps you can go to a step down unit or something for a few days?
