Gift recommendations for nursing aides?

My mom can be a real pill and entitled and has been treating the staff like servants as well as aggressive, and also currently believes everyone around her is actually a Nazi. I would like to do something nice for the staff to let them know how appreciated they are. Would flowers be ok? What do people who work in these environments need/want the most?

I generally brought in sweets each week when I visited mom. When we had our big family parties, we made enough for the staff to have doggie bags or meals on site (think prime rib, tiramisu, smoked turkey). Nice hand cream would probably also be appreciated.

Gift cards are always appreciated, even quietly in places that have rules about gift giving. A big platter of cookies or donuts is never refused either

As someone who works in an assisted living facility I can give you first hand examples of what families have done in grateful appreciation. Of course it all depends on your budget. Some do cookies. So get a list of all the caregivers and then get gift cards for example 10.00 gas card, Starbucks or Amazon cards. Some people have brought in pizzas. So have just given a simple Christmas card. In my opinion it is the thought that counts.

You should ask the facility what their rules are. Staff is usually not allowed to except money. I bake, so I took in a big tray of cookies. On and off I would take in goodies and leave in the lunch room.
