Home Care

I am running a nursing home, but I don't have any patients as yet. What is the best way to find patients?

Call on home health companies, hospice and ALF. See if you meet the requirements to offer respite care. From there you should gain patients and lots of experience.

Go on Medicare.gov compare providers and enter your zip code. From there you will find other licensed companies. Speak to the social workers at these locations.

Visit with your local area agency on aging and discuss their requirements for offering your services.

I hope you have all the legalities worked out. You need to be licensed with the State. You will need a CO from your Township to inspect the premises. You will needvto except Medicaid. If you have all your ducksvin a row you contact the hospitals in your area and tell them you have beds.

You're not going to find any here. You need a business promoter to get your name out there.

Faith, ‘running a nursing home’ with no patients sounds a bit odd! Do you mean a ‘board and care’ home with about 8 residents? Whichever it is, you need to find out about the regulations and licensing requirements, BEFORE you get the patients.

I would discuss this with other businesses doing this work.
They often present their licensing and their qualifications to Hospital Social Workers; I do know that. But I don't know what the process is for that.
Go directly to the horse's mouth. You will get great pointers as well from those doing the work and dealing with the regulations.
Best of luck. Goodness knows you are welcome.

Hire a branding firm to develop your brand and get help with a logo, website, collateral materials, etc. Always budget for advertising.
