Can anyone recommend a cell phone for those with dementia or memory issues?

I have a RAZ Mobility phone for my 95-yr old Mom with early dementia and memory impairment, plus arthritis and neuropathy in her hands and fingertips. She went from a flip phone the RAZ and it took some time for her to handle it properly. I control who she calls and who calls her from an app on my phone. So, no more spam/scam or unwanted callers. Her contacts show up as nice large pictures so all she has to do is press the pic to dial the person.

datanp97, cellphones can be a challenge for anyone who is older who doesn't have dementia or memory issues. Are they even going to remember to "charge it"? Chances are no.

Does the person have arthritis of the hands? If yes, difficult to thumb type on the small keyboard. Does the person have age related eye issues, such as macual degeneration? If yes, might need a magnifying glass to read the screen.

If the person puts down the cellphone, will they remember the last place they put it? If no, then keep the landlines as those of us who grew up with landlines still remember how they work, it's ingrained in our minds.

I swear my hubby is going to land in the hospital as when his cellphone rings it's a mad dash around the house, up and down stairs, trying to locate the phone. Wish whomever calls would just call him on our landline, as we have landline phones in every room of the house, including basement and garage.

Gave up my cellphone, I can't tell you how free that feels not having that beeping thing tugging at my skirt all day long :)

Love my smartphone3 by Lively and love their in person help and kind personal service. That said, if there is dementia I honestly don't think any cell phone will work, even those nifty ones with the pictures on the dial pad.
