I live Racine, WI and I'm trying to find out if I can get paid to take care of my blind husband.

A friend of mine said he heard about spouses getting paid to take care of their disabled spouse. I called Aging and Disability Resource Center and they were no help. I've tried calling society assets and they didn't help. Does anyone have any info? Thank you.

How old is he? Have you tried your County Disabilities Dept? Is his blindness recent? He maybe able to get training on how to manuver on his own. My SILs grandmother was blind later in life. She lived alone in a 2 story house and did everything for herself.

If your husband is a Veteran the VA now pays a spouse to care for the Veteran.
contact your local Veterans Assistance Commission and they can help determine what benefits he would qualify for.
